Actress Jang Mi-in-ae looked back on the time she spent in Australia with her son and shared a life update.
Recently, Jang posted a video on her Instagram with the caption, "A foreign language, unfamiliar streets. In a place where nothing felt familiar, my baby and I walked together."
The video shows Jang Mi-in-ae walking Sydney’s streets with her son and going about her daily life. She calmly documented their time wandering an unfamiliar city together—attending school, meeting new people, and taking photos.
Jang wrote, "Going to school, meeting friends, pressing the shutter. Looking back, we were on every road," adding, "For the first time, I felt completely free in a place beyond anyone’s gaze. And that’s where I finally learned about the world." She continued, "Thanks to the friends I met here, I was able to get through it. I can do anything. I am a mom, and I am actress Jang Mi-in-ae," comforting and affirming herself.
Jang Mi-in-ae debuted in 2003 through the MBC sitcom Nonstop 4 and went on to appear in various projects. After facing multiple controversies—including propofol usage, criticism of the Blue House, and exposing a sponsor—she announced on social media in 2020 that she "would no longer work as an actress in Korea." In 2022, she registered her marriage with a non-celebrity businessman and welcomed a son in October of the same year.
After focusing on her private life for some time, Jang’s reflections on her time in Australia and her renewed determination are drawing attention to what path she will take next.
