Actor Hyeri, formerly of Girl's Day, fired back at a sudden and bizarre "belly fat" controversy.

Recently, Hyeri held the '2025 HYERI FANMEETING TOUR 'Welcome to HYERI's STUDIO' IN SEOUL' at Ewha Womans University Samsung Hall in Seoul and met with fans. She wore a slim-fit dress with a washed effect, and some claimed "Hyeri's lower belly looks rounded," sparking a ridiculous debate about her body.

On the 16th, through a fan communication platform, Hyeri said, "Honestly, I like myself, but viewers might think it looks unprofessional," adding, "(Though I don't get why being skinny equals being professional) if Hyerumi (the fandom name) wants it, I'll try. I'll work out and stay healthy."

That same day, she also posted multiple behind-the-scenes photos from the fan meeting on her social media with the caption "Night Version," effectively quieting the "belly fat" chatter.

Fans are cheering Hyeri on, saying, "I don't get how this is even a controversy," "Criticizing her body makes no sense," and "A professional doesn't have to be stick-thin."

Meanwhile, since debuting with Girl's Day in 2010, Hyeri has steadily worked as both a singer and an actor, and she is currently on an Asia fan meeting tour.
