Former MMA fighter-turned-TV personality Kim Dong-hyun flaunted his chemistry with wife Song Ha-yul as he candidly shared the backstory behind their fourth pregnancy.
On the 25th, a new video featuring Kim Dong-hyun and Song Ha-yul dropped on Lee Ji-hye's YouTube channel. Lee Ji-hye and her husband sat down with the couple to talk about married life and family planning.
Kim Dong-hyun and Song Ha-yul, who married in 2018 after a long relationship, dated for over a decade before tying the knot, yet they still give off newlywed vibes that drew attention.
Lee Ji-hye asked the couple, "All four kids were conceived naturally, not through IVF, right? It seems like the love is still burning hot," pressing them about their plans for children. Kim Dong-hyun replied, "We planned everything."
He added that he had always taken a natural approach to having kids, even while they were dating. "Once we reached a certain age, we agreed that if a child comes, it's heaven's will," he said. "So we didn't use contraception."
But it didn't happen easily at first. "Even then, we didn't get pregnant right away. I worried there might be something wrong with me," he admitted. After the wedding, when there was no news of a pregnancy for a while, his wife took traditional herbal medicine, and not long after, their first child arrived.
Kim also shared a light-hearted take on prenatal testing. "Prenatal checkups aren't just for women—men should get them too," he said, revealing he also underwent testing. Describing his results, he joked, "My swimmers were like weekend Lotte World or Haeundae Beach in August—packed to the max," drawing laughter.
Kim Dong-hyun married Song Ha-yul, who is six years younger, in 2018. They currently have two daughters and one son, and their fourth child—a boy—is due this October.
