TREASURE member Junkyu has temporarily suspended activities due to health reasons and shared a heartfelt handwritten letter with fans.

On the 29th, Junkyu posted a handwritten message on the fan community Weverse, opening with, "I thought a lot about how to begin this, and I’m picking up my pen hoping my true feelings will reach you."

He continued, "It’s already been six years since our 2020 debut, running together with Treasure Maker (our official fandom). I’ve received so much love, and every moment felt like a miracle. I was happy," expressing his gratitude.

Junkyu candidly added, "As I kept pushing forward, I realized I’d started missing the signals from my mind and body. I wanted to be professional and only show you my best, so I tried to act like I was fine. But I came to understand it’s time to pause and look back at myself."

He explained, "After fully discussing it with the company, I decided to halt activities for the time being and take time to rest."

"I’m so sorry to our Treasure Makers, who have always been my rock, for worrying you with this sudden news," he wrote, emphasizing, "But this pause is a time for me to become healthier and more certain." He reassured fans, adding, "I’ll take a good rest, organize my thoughts, and return as my whole self."

On the same day, YG Entertainment stated, "Based on Junkyu’s own view that he needs a period of focused stability and rest, and in agreement with those around him, he will temporarily suspend activities and take a break."

Junkyu first gained recognition through the 2018 JTBC audition program MIXNINE, trained at YG Entertainment, and debuted as a member of TREASURE in August 2020.
