Actor Ryu Soo-young is set to drop a "fated" love story with his wife Park Ha-sun — and it all started with a musical.

Airing July 1, MBC variety show Radio Star will feature Ryu Soo-young, Choi Jin-hyuk, Yoon Si-yoon, and Sandeul in a special titled 'National Team Sons.' On the show, Ryu opens up about the special twist of fate that brought him closer to Park Ha-sun.

Ryu reveals that the musical Guys and Dolls became a turning point in their relationship. About 12 years ago, he performed in the production, and Park Ha-sun happened to come see the show. While they weren't exactly close at the time, Park began seeing Ryu on stage in a completely new light after the performance. Ryu admits that moment sparked new feelings between them.

Their bond deepened even more in Hongcheon. Ryu recalls that Park Ha-sun unexpectedly stopped by where his family had gathered, leading to an effortless round of introductions. It wasn't a formally planned meeting, but the mood felt almost like a pre-engagement family meeting.

Looking back, Ryu says he felt "this wasn't an ordinary connection." Seeing Park blend so naturally with his family at an unplanned gathering left a strong impression on him — and it became a key moment that drew them even closer.

He also shares the behind-the-scenes of a motorcycle date in Hongcheon. Remembering the moment he put Park Ha-sun on the back seat, Ryu says that although he usually gives off a safe, dependable older-brother vibe, he wanted to show a slightly different side of himself that day. The time they spent riding along country roads turned into a treasured memory — and brought their hearts even closer.

Ryu adds that his decision to join the current musical The Days is also tied to Park Ha-sun. Beyond his love for the piece and its music, he wanted to show his wife the version of himself who once owned the stage in his younger years.

The episode airs July 1 at 10:30 p.m.
