With 100 days to go before the premiere, the Park Jinyoung and Kim Yoo-jung K-Drama is already whipping fans into a frenzy.
On the 2nd, tvN’s new Saturday-Sunday drama 100 Days of Deception dropped its D-100 teaser.
The teaser previews a fated encounter between Lee Ga-gyeong (played by Kim Yoo-jung), who is heading somewhere with purpose, and Kim Tae-woong (played by Park Jinyoung), who becomes entangled with her in unpredictable ways—intensifying curiosity about the series. It also features glimpses of Kim Hyun-joo, Lee Moo-saeng, and Jin Seon-kyu.
In the story, Kim Yoo-jung leads as Lee Ga-gyeong, once Gyeongseong’s top pickpocket who goes undercover for 100 days as a trainee interpreter inside the Government-General of Korea. Park Jinyoung plays Kim Tae-woong, the adopted son of the Director of Political Affairs, Sato Hideo, and a newly appointed elite interpreter for the Government-General. Fluent in English, Japanese, and Korean, he returns to Joseon after more than a decade to carry out a critical mission.
Kim Hyun-joo portrays Yoo So-ran, a sniper for the anti-Japanese independence group Guguktan who takes up arms for revenge. Lee Moo-saeng plays Yoo Philip, a Gyeongseong correspondent for an American media outlet who pressures the Director of Political Affairs in the fight for Korea’s independence, raising the stakes. Jin Seon-kyu delivers overwhelming presence as Sato Shinichiro, the Government-General’s No. 2—and Guguktan’s primary target—who will stop at nothing to climb the ranks.
Netizens reacted hotly, commenting, "Park Jinyoung and Kim Yoo-jung’s eyes are insane," "The teaser feels so classy," "Releasing a D-100 teaser to match the title is such a clever move," and "I’ve been waiting for this."
Meanwhile, 100 Days of Deception tells a 100-day spy romance between Gyeongseong’s best pickpocket-turned-spy and the Government-General’s elite interpreter as they face off in the enemy’s heartland. The first episode airs on October 10.
