Shocking reveal: Singer Lee So-ra breaks her silence for the first time, opening up about the deteriorating health and grueling years she endured during her long hiatus.

On July 9, tvN's variety show You Quiz on the Block dropped a teaser announcing Lee So-ra's guest appearance, marking her return with a new single after about seven years.

In the teaser, Yoo Jae-suk asked Lee So-ra, who had been away from the spotlight for a long time, "I heard you stayed home the whole time?" She answered, "I was sick," retracing the period that had never been made public.

Lee So-ra confessed, "I weighed around 90–100 kg. My blood pressure was so high I could barely breathe, and I couldn't sleep. It was terrifying."

She had previously appeared on singer Sung Si-kyung's YouTube channel and revealed that she had lost a significant amount of weight due to health issues. When Sung Si-kyung remarked at the time that she seemed to have slimmed down a lot, Lee So-ra replied, "I lost a substantial amount of weight."

As she cautiously resumes activities after years of pain and hiatus, viewers are eager to hear the candid stories she will share on the show. The episode featuring Lee So-ra airs on the 15th at 8:45 p.m.

Meanwhile, since her 1993 debut, Lee So-ra has released numerous classics and cemented her status as one of Korea's leading female vocalists. Most recently, she returned to fans with the new single 'I'll Forget Your Face.' Her new release is her first in about seven years since 'Song Request' in 2019.
