Former FT Island member Song Seung-hyun is now a dad.
On the 10th, Song announced the birth of his first son on Instagram, posting a message that read, "Our beloved sunshine was born safely."
He added, "Our Ian, fresh to the world just moments ago. We’re so happy Ian came to be with Mom and Dad," expressing his overwhelming joy. He continued, "I’m still a very inexperienced dad, but Mom’s got this, so don’t worry. Grow up healthy and strong. I love you, son."
He also sent a message to his wife, who just gave birth: "To my wife, who went through more than anyone—thank you, and I love you."
Song Seung-hyun debuted in 2009 as the guitarist of FT Island. He left the group in 2019 to pursue acting, announced his retirement from entertainment in 2024, and married a non-celebrity in June of the same year. He is reportedly running a restaurant business in the United States.
