Shocking crossover: Director Christopher Nolan and actor Matt Damon will appear on tvN variety show 'You Quiz on the Block,' hosted by comedian Yoo Jae-suk, ahead of the Korea release of the film Odyssey.
On the 13th, tvN confirmed their appearance, saying, "They will share a wide range of stories about the film, their philosophies on directing and acting, and rare candid insights." The airdate for their episode will be announced later.
The schedule aligns with Nolan and Damon's visit to Korea. The pair will fly to Seoul on the 3rd of next month to promote Odyssey, joined by cast member Charlize Theron.
Notably, this will be Nolan's first time meeting Korean fans in person. In a handwritten letter, he said, "I am grateful for the love and support Korean audiences have shown my films," adding, "I'm thrilled to come to Seoul with Odyssey and introduce the film directly to Korean moviegoers."
Damon will return to Korea for the first time in about a decade since promoting 'Jason Bourne' in 2016. As this marks both stars' first on-air meeting with Yoo Jae-suk, anticipation is high for what kind of conversation they'll share.
Odyssey is a large-scale blockbuster based on Homer's ancient Greek epic Odysseia. It follows the hero Odysseus, who led the Greeks to victory in the Trojan War, as he endures trials from the gods and journeys back to his home of Ithaca, where his wife and son await.
In the film, Damon plays the lead, Odysseus, alongside a star-studded cast that includes Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron.
Meanwhile, Odyssey opens in Korea on the 5th of next month.
