At tvN's weekend drama press conference for Spooky in Love on the 14th, actress Park Eun-bin vowed the series will boldly diverge from the original film, packing in fresh twists and a darker vibe ahead of its July 18 premiere at 9:10 p.m.
Park Eun-bin said, "With this project, I learned the term 'transmedia' for the first time. Adapting a film into a drama felt like a new challenge for me," adding, "A film runs about two hours, but we're a 12-episode series, so we've woven in more than six times the amount of new setups."
She continued, "Aside from the ghost-seeing premise and the character names, we've rebuilt it from the ground up. I focused on what only a drama can do best. I chose this project believing viewers could enjoy something much richer and truly new."
Spooky in Love, an occult romance about a chaebol heiress who sees ghosts and a hot-blooded prosecutor who fears them most, will premiere on the 18th at 9:10 p.m. It will also be available on TVING and Netflix.
