Shocking variety shake-up: tvN’s The Village Barber is officially returning for Season 2 with new member Go Kyung-pyo.

On the 13th, tvN confirmed that The Village Barber 2 will premiere this November. Park Bo-gum and Lee Sang-yi are back, while Go Kyung-pyo joins as the new cast member, taking over the spot held by Kwak Dong-yeon in Season 1.

Airing earlier this year, The Village Barber followed the cast as they ran a small hair salon in a rural village in Muju, North Jeolla Province, giving locals fresh cuts — and heartfelt comfort. The easygoing friendship and playful chemistry among Park Bo-gum, Lee Sang-yi, and Kwak Dong-yeon, plus sincere conversations with residents, delivered both laughs and warmth.

The biggest change in Season 2 is Go Kyung-pyo’s arrival. Known for his pure yet quirky wit and quick execution on variety shows, Go has consistently stood out. Fans are eager to see what role he’ll take in the newly reassembled salon and what brand of humor he’ll bring.

In particular, Park Bo-gum and Go Kyung-pyo forged their bond through the dramas 'Tomorrow’s Cantabile' and 'Reply 1988' and have stayed close friends for over a decade. Their long-built rapport is expected to translate into effortless teamwork and fresh laughs.

With Go Kyung-pyo stepping in as the new eldest member, last season’s eldest, Lee Sang-yi, moves to the second-oldest spot. The duo’s sharp banter and first-time variety teamwork will be a major point to watch in Season 2.

Season 1 dominated the 20–49 demographic, ranking No. 1 across all channels in its time slot for seven straight weeks, and topped cable and general programming in household ratings for six consecutive weeks. It also entered the non-drama buzz rankings Top 10 for nine weeks running.

The show reached overseas viewers as well, rolling out across about 200 countries and regions, including Southeast Asia, the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania. It earned high marks on IMDb, signaling strong global buzz.

Starring Park Bo-gum, Lee Sang-yi, and Go Kyung-pyo, The Village Barber 2 premieres on tvN this November.
