BLACKPINK’s Jennie is officially dropping the new track she first teased on global festival stages — and it’s already sparking buzz.
Her label OA Entertainment announced on the 21st via its official social channels that Jennie’s new single ‘Less than a Lover’ will be released on July 24 at 1 p.m. KST across major music platforms worldwide.
A teaser image hinting at the song’s mood has also been unveiled. It captures a cinematic scene of Jennie gazing at a man, with sweeping nature outside a truck window — a visual that deepens the season’s distinctly romantic, summer vibe.
The new single sees Jennie taking the reins creatively: she reportedly co-directed the music video and participated in both songwriting and production.
Before its official drop, ‘Less than a Lover’ premiered on major festival stages, including the United States’ ‘The Governors Ball Music Festival 2026’, Denmark’s ‘Roskilde Festival’, Poland’s ‘Open’er Festival’, and Spain’s ‘2026 Mad Cool Festival’. The performances drew enthusiastic responses from local crowds, and continued calls for a digital release led to the decision for an official rollout.
Meanwhile, Jennie is set to hit more global stages, including the United States’ ‘Lollapalooza Chicago’ and Japan’s ‘Summer Sonic 2026’.
