Actors Choi Woo Shik and Jang Hye Jin are reuniting as an on-screen mother and son for the first time since the film Parasite.
On the 6th, the team behind Number One unveiled a teaser poster ahead of its release.
Number One follows Hamin (played by Choi Woo Shik), who suddenly starts seeing a number drop every time he eats his mom's cooking—and learns that when it hits 0, his mother Eunsil (played by Jang Hye Jin) will die. He sets out to protect her at all costs.
The teaser poster shows Hamin gazing at a lovingly prepared home-cooked meal bathed in gentle sunlight. It looks like an ordinary dinner, but his expression hints at complicated emotions he can't easily reveal.
The line "My mother's time started appearing as numbers" suggests that the numbers only Hamin can see represent the time his mother has left, stoking viewers' curiosity.
For Hamin, his mother's food becomes both love and fear. To save her, he's forced to consciously turn away from what he cherishes most. Why is he the only one who can see these numbers, and what secret lies behind them?
The film reunites Choi Woo Shik and Jang Hye Jin—whose mother–son chemistry in Parasite left a lasting impression—promising deep emotion and empathy. Joining them, Gong Seung Yeon plays Ryeo-eun, Hamin's girlfriend, enriching the story.
Meanwhile, Number One is slated to open in theaters nationwide on February 11.
