Blockbuster “10-million admissions” director Jang Hang-jun is set to reveal his casting plans for his next project.
On the 23rd, Media Lab Seesaw announced that Jang Hang-jun will appear in Episode 8 of Yeonui-ui Seong, dropping today, where he leads the casting game with slick rhetoric and strategy under the banner of “low-budget filmmaking.”
Fresh off surpassing 10 million moviegoers with The King’s Warden, he reportedly lays out plans for his next project during a chat with actors Kim Eui-sung and Im Hyung-joon. Jang says, “I shouldn’t lose my original passion for cinema,” and introduces the independent film “International Lawyer,” revealing he has cast actor Lee Jun-hyuk as the lead.
Meanwhile, as a subtle rivalry brews between Kim Eui-sung and Im Hyung-joon over a supporting role, Jang flips the script by proposing they participate on an “investment” basis instead of taking an appearance fee. At his dare—“Let’s make a splash”—the actors reportedly pondered the bold terms even more than the project itself.
Yeonui-ui Seong is a mockumentary-style YouTube variety show featuring Kim Eui-sung, with Im Hyung-joon serving as planner, director, writer, and cast member. The program blurs the line between acting and reality based on real conversations among actors, and it’s been drawing buzz.
