BTS have swept the U.S. charts, adding a No. 1 on the 'Hot 100' right after ruling the 'Billboard 200'.
On March 31 (local time), Billboard's preview report confirmed that 'SWIM,' the title track from BTS's fifth studio album 'ARIRANG,' hits No. 1 on the main songs chart, the 'Hot 100' (dated April 4).
This marks BTS's seventh No. 1 on the 'Hot 100' as a group. With this feat, they become the fifth group with the most Hot 100 No. 1s since the chart launched in August 1958—trailing only the Beatles, the Supremes, the Bee Gees, and the Rolling Stones.
Released on the 20th, 'SWIM' logged 15.3 million streams, a 15.4 million radio audience, and 154,000 digital and physical sales through the 26th. Powered by those numbers, it ranks No. 2 on 'Streaming Songs,' No. 18 on 'Radio Songs,' and No. 1 on 'Digital Song Sales.'
Fans reacted in real time, saying, "No wonder the antis are losing it," "This is insane," and "I'm proud as a Korean."
Meanwhile, 'SWIM'—with lyrics by RM—carries a message about pushing through life's waves and swimming on to the very end.
