Shocking casting alert: Park Seo Joon, Um Tae Goo, and Jo Hye Joo have been confirmed for Disney+’s new drama adapted from a hit webtoon.
On the 31st, Disney+ confirmed production of I Am the Sinner and announced the trio’s casting.
I Am the Sinner is a crime-action noir set in a lawless city amid the 1980s redevelopment boom. It follows Paeng-i (Park Seo Joon), who commits crimes to achieve his ambitions, and Saengdak (Um Tae Goo), a gang member whose survival is on the line, as they risk everything for a shot at turning their lives around.
Park Seo Joon transforms into Paeng-i, a villain embodying the era’s ravenous desires. Ahead of the 1988 Seoul Olympics, he storms into a district consumed by redevelopment mania and dives into the drug trade, throwing the area into chaos. Um Tae Goo plays Saengdak, a gang member who betrays his organization and grapples with a life-or-death proposal. Joining them is Jo Hye Joo as Bok-hee — the key supplier in the drug operation and Paeng-i’s first love — whose unpredictable choices ratchet up the tension.
