BTS launched their world tour to massive fanfare — but some attendees walked away frustrated, sparking a wave of mixed reactions online.
On April 9, BTS opened their world tour at the Main Stadium of the Goyang Sports Complex, kicking off the 'BTS World Tour Arirang' (BTS WORLD TOUR ARIRANG) and greeting fans.
This show featured a 360-degree viewing setup centered around the stage so audiences could enjoy high-energy performances from any angle.
However, after the show, a portion of fans criticized certain stage elements and visual effects. On online communities and social media, reactions included: "With the weather and smog, you couldn’t even make out their faces," "Who put that weird effect on the jumbotron?" and "The sound was great, but the jumbotron was disappointing."
Fans who heard the news also weighed in: "Maybe they went way too heavy on the smog," "As expected, the first concert is basically a rehearsal," and "Do they not know setting off fireworks in the rain creates steam?"
Meanwhile, BTS will continue the tour across 34 cities with 85 shows in total, starting in Goyang and heading to Busan, Tokyo in Japan, North America, South America, and Europe.
