Shocking big-money move: Musical star and former Fin.K.L member Ock Joo-hyun has reportedly snapped up a unit in Seoul’s most exclusive residential complex, instantly becoming the talk of the town.
According to Sports Kyunghyang on the 11th, Ock purchased a unit at Hannam The Hill in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, for approximately 19 billion KRW. The deal is drawing even more attention as it’s said to be the first real estate purchase of her life.
The duplex unit spans roughly 332 square meters (about 3,573 sq ft) and was previously owned by SPC Group president Hur Hee-soo. During the transaction, a collateral mortgage was registered with a maximum secured amount of about 12.3 billion KRW. The contract was signed last year, and the final payment was recently completed, with the ownership transfer now finalized.
This sale is evaluated as the highest actual transaction price within the complex to date. The previous record—about 17.5 billion KRW—was held by BTS member Jin, but Ock’s deal has now surpassed it.
Completed in 2011 on the former Dankook University site, Hannam The Hill is an ultra-luxury residential community comprising 32 buildings and 600 units. It boasts panoramic views of both Namsan Mountain and the Han River, rigorous security with restricted external access, and low-density design—features that cement its status as the pinnacle of Seoul luxury living.
Ock Joo-hyun debuted in 1998 with Fin.K.L and went on to release multiple hit songs. She is now primarily active on the musical stage, cementing her status as one of Korea’s leading musical actors with standout roles in Rebecca, Elisabeth, and Mata Hari. This year, she delivered a powerful performance as the titular role of Anna in the musical Anna Karenina.
