Actress Go Youn-jung, riding a streak of back-to-back hits, drew attention as she shared her mindset for her next project.
On the 17th, the production press conference for JTBC’s new Saturday-Sunday drama We Are All Trying Here (hereafter ‘Mojamussa’) was held. Director Cha Young-hoon attended alongside cast members Koo Kyo-hwan, Go Youn-jung, Oh Jung-se, Kang Mal-geum, Park Hae-joon, and Han Sun-hwa, lighting up the event.
In the series, Go plays Byun Eun-a, a producer at Choi Film who’s nicknamed “the Axe” for her razor-sharp script reviews. She longs to be an unshakable, calm center in any situation, but in reality, whenever she hits emotional overload she gets nosebleeds and fights fiercely against her own trauma.
Speaking about her on-screen chemistry with co-star Koo Kyo-hwan, Go said, “Because I had so many scenes with him on set, the initial pressure and awkwardness naturally disappeared. Koo Kyo-hwan sunbae’s sync with his character, Dong-man, was incredibly high. I didn’t try to lean on him on purpose, but while acting I naturally found myself relying on him.” She continued, “He has a lot of scenes and lines. In contrast, I have fewer lines and more empty space to fill, so I worked hard to keep the story from dragging.” She added, “But he drew out new reactions from me every single time to the point my preparations felt unnecessary. Thanks to his colorful, dynamic acting that never let me stay still, I was able to react naturally in every take,” expressing deep gratitude toward Koo.
Meanwhile, ‘Mojamussa’ follows a man who, feeling left behind among his high-achieving friends, spirals into jealousy and envy before gradually finding peace. The drama premieres on the 18th at 10:40 p.m.
