Shocking turn in ‘Yumi’s Cells 3’: Kim Jae-won and Kim Go-eun’s romance has officially begun, and viewers can’t stop talking.
In Episode 3 of the TVING original series Yumi’s Cells Season 3, which aired on the 20th, Soonrok (played by Kim Jae-won) suggested watching a movie with Yumi (played by Kim Go-eun). He initially made the move to check Juho’s (Choi Daniel) bold advances, but the invite unexpectedly brought the two much closer.
The episode delicately captured Yumi’s Love Cell waking up again. Yumi misunderstood that Soonrok wanted to switch teams by using another writer’s schedule as an excuse to avoid working with her, but his proactive explanation cleared things up and sparked subtle changes between them. In particular, when Soonrok accidentally missed his train, the way Yumi looked at him hinted at a fluttering rush of feelings. Yumi then dashed down to Busan, where Soonrok was attending a publishing workshop, washing away the lingering awkwardness as the two shared a sweet, comfortable silence.
Still, the direction of their romance remained complicated. Yumi worried about the age gap with Soonrok, and as Juho kept approaching her so familiarly, she couldn’t hide her confusion. When Juho sent Soonrok home first to spend time alone with Yumi, it triggered yet another misunderstanding.
Amid this, Soonrok began revealing his own feelings for Yumi. When Daeyong (Jeon Seok-ho) asked if Yumi and Juho made a good match, Soonrok drew a firm line, saying, "I don’t think they suit each other very well." Later, frustrated that he hadn’t really gotten to talk with Yumi at the post-workshop gathering, Soonrok volunteered to take her home and shot his shot: "Want to watch a movie together?" That one trembling question signaled a new phase in their relationship — and sent viewers’ heart rates soaring.
