Actor Kim Hyang-gi, who stunned viewers with a bold reinvention as a BL novelist, is back with an even bolder, cheekier storyline.

In episodes 5 and 6 of Absolute Value of Romance, dropping on the 24th, Ui-ju (Kim Hyang-gi)’s spectacular day-to-day life kicks into high gear, delivering unpredictable fun for viewers.

Absolute Value of Romance is a chaotic high-teen rom-com about Ui-ju, a high schooler who secretly writes romance novels starring her handsome teachers and then gets tangled up with them in real life. After skyrocketing from a so-called “flop writer” to a breakout hit author, Ui-ju faces a do-or-die crisis when Woo-su (Cha Hak-yeon) is on the verge of discovering her secret manuscript. Her desperate begging in front of Woo-su and his utter shock create a razor-sharp tension that sparks laughs.

Most notably, the world of Ui-ju’s imagined novel, ‘We Were Friends,’ comes to life on screen, delivering a rush of dopamine. Expect radically different versions of Woo-su, Gi-jeon (Son Jeong-hyeok), and Dong-ju (Kim Dong-gyu) from their real-world selves—and an edgy, love-hate chemistry that promises a fresh twist.

The high-stakes double life of Kim Hyang-gi’s Ui-ju continues in episodes 5 and 6 of Absolute Value of Romance, available at 8 p.m. KST today on Coupang Play.
