The world of K-Pop: Demon Hunters may not be over just yet.

On April 1, directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans addressed sequel possibilities during a press conference held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Seoul, following the film’s major awards run.

While stopping short of confirming specifics, Maggie Kang shared that the team already has a “big idea” in mind for a follow-up, though she chose to keep the details under wraps for now. Chris Appelhans added a cryptic but intriguing note about the character Jin-woo, saying, “He’s alive in our hearts,” hinting at unresolved story potential.

The film follows K-pop superstars Lumi, Mira, and Joy—idols on stage and secret protectors off it—as they battle hidden threats behind the glamor of the industry. Its blend of action, fantasy, and music helped it stand out globally, earning recognition across major awards including the Critics Choice Awards, Golden Globes, and Grammys.

With that level of reception, expectations for a sequel are naturally building. Still, the directors made it clear that any continuation will come on their own terms—focused less on pressure and more on creative direction.

For now, the message is simple: something may be coming—but not everything is ready to be revealed.
