The momentum of The King’s Warden is creating ripple effects—and one of them is bringing Rebound back to theaters.

As director Jang Hang-jun’s latest film continues to draw massive attention, interest has resurfaced around his earlier work Rebound, prompting its upcoming re-release.

Actor Lee Shin-young, who led the film, shared his thoughts on April 1, reflecting on the unexpected turn. He recalled a special event held around the film’s first anniversary and admitted that hearing about the re-release left him both surprised and excited.

More than anything, he expressed hope that the film could connect with audiences again—much like its title suggests. For him, the idea of “rebounding” isn’t just part of the story, but something he wishes for the film itself as it returns to theaters.

Based on the true story of Busan Joongang High School’s basketball team and their remarkable run at the 2012 National High School Basketball Championship, Rebound captured themes of youth, pressure, and perseverance. Lee’s portrayal of team captain Cheon Ki-beom drew attention for balancing confidence with vulnerability.

The film is now set for a nationwide re-release on April 3, offering audiences another chance to experience its story on the big screen.
