Former WINNER member Nam Tae-hyun has been sentenced to prison for driving under the influence.

On the 9th, the 11th Criminal Division (single-judge) of the Seoul Western District Court sentenced Nam, who was indicted for violating the Road Traffic Act, to one year in prison and a fine of 1 million won.

The court emphasized the severity of the incident, stating that he was driving at 182 km/h on Gangbyeonbuk-ro, lost control, crossed into the fourth lane, and crashed into a retaining wall—creating a serious risk to public safety.

It also noted that the offense was committed while he was under a suspended sentence for violating the Narcotics Control Act, increasing the level of culpability. However, the court did not detain him in custody, citing no risk of evidence destruction or flight.

Nam’s blood alcohol concentration at the time was 0.122%, a level that results in license revocation.

Previously, in January 2024, he received a one-year prison sentence suspended for two years for methamphetamine use.
