With actress Ji Ye-eun and dancer Bata officially confirming their relationship, past variety show moments hinting at their connection are going viral again.
On online communities and social media, a web variety episode of Just an Excuse released last June is being reexamined. That episode featured Ji Seok-jin, Haha, Song Ji-hyo, and Ji Ye-eun, and Ji Ye-eun brought up behind-the-scenes stories of the project group 'Chungju Ji Clan.'
When Ji Ye-eun mentioned the song they released with Ji Seok-jin, 'Milkshake,' Yoo Jae-suk asked, "Didn't your church friend Bata handle the choreography?" casually bringing up Bata by name. Ji Ye-eun smiled and replied, "That's right. The 'Like Jennie' choreography is by Bata." Haha added, "Isn't Bata blowing up right now?" while Ji Seok-jin joked, "This got way bigger than our level," drawing laughter.
After news of their romance broke, this scene resurfaced and sparked fresh debate. Noticing how Ji Ye-eun looked shy whenever Bata's name came up, netizens reacted with comments like, "Did their love already start back then?" and "Maybe the members already knew."
On the 13th, Ji Ye-eun's agency CP Entertainment released an official statement following the initial dating reports, saying, "The two started out as colleagues and are now meeting with good feelings," acknowledging the relationship. Both born in 1994 and the same age, they reportedly grew close as church friends and naturally developed into a couple based on shared interests.
