Shocking comeback alert: comedian Yoo Jae-suk and actor Yoo Yeon-seok are reuniting with viewers on the SBS variety show Whenever Possible.
On the 19th, SBS announced it will launch the fifth season of Whenever Possible in the second half of the year. The show is a quick-hit variety that swoops into people’s everyday “pockets of time” to deliver luck and laughs.
PD Choi Bo-pil teased the new season, saying, “Whenever Possible is ramping up its mobility to meet viewers,” adding, “We’ll capture unexpected fun and fresh stories with an even more diverse group of ‘gap owners’ in a wider range of locations.” He continued, “Please look forward to another special ‘pocket of time’ crafted with the now-perfectly-synced duo Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Yeon-seok, who have truly settled in by viewers’ sides.”
Alongside the season confirmation, a public call went out to recruit ‘gap owners’—the everyday people the show drops in on during those small pockets of time. The notice read, “Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Yeon-seok will go anywhere nationwide. Invite us into the pockets of time in your daily life,” hinting at a season set on an even bigger stage.
Since premiering in April 2024, Whenever Possible has steadily spread by word of mouth and built a devoted following. Dubbed the ‘Two Yoo’ MCs, Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Yeon-seok charmed viewers with their effortless rhythm and upbeat chemistry, meeting a new ‘gap owner’ each episode to create small but heartwarming moments.
The show’s fresh lineup of “gap games” is another fan-favorite element. With games unfolding in unexpected places and situations—and segments that blend into each ‘gap owner’s’ daily life—the program delivers both laughs and healing.
As Whenever Possible expands its reach across the country for season five, anticipation is rising over what new laughs and touching moments the team will deliver next.
