A portion of BTS’s album 'Arirang' was shared online ahead of its official release, prompting BigHit Music to pursue legal action.

Billboard reported on April 13 (local time) that BTS’s agency has taken steps toward legal action against an anonymous X (Twitter) user who allegedly uploaded parts of a track prior to release.

According to the report, the account posted segments of a song from BTS’s 5th studio album 'Arirang' in early March. In response, BigHit Music filed a subpoena request in a U.S. court, seeking to obtain information that could identify the account holder.

Billboard noted that the move could serve as a preliminary step toward a civil lawsuit in a Korean court.

BTS officially released 'Arirang' on March 20 and held a comeback show at Gwanghwamun Square. The group then began their 'Arirang' world tour at Goyang Sports Complex, with plans to perform across 34 cities in 85 shows.
