Horror film 'Salmokji: Whispering Water' has remained No. 1 at the Korean box office for 10 consecutive days.
According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated box office system on the 18th, the film attracted 98,979 viewers the previous day, bringing its cumulative admissions to 1,088,707.
Directed by Lee Sang-min, 'Salmokji: Whispering Water' follows a street-view filming crew that heads to the Salmokji reservoir, where persistent eerie rumors surround the area, and encounters a series of horrors. Kim Hye-yoon stars as Soo-in, alongside Lee Jong-won, Kim Joon-han, Kim Young-sung, Oh Dong-min, Yoon Jae-chan, and Jang Da-ah.
Since its April 8 release, the film has continued to draw audiences through word of mouth.
In second place was 'Project Hail Mary,' starring Ryan Gosling, which drew 32,892 viewers that day for a cumulative total of 2,160,277.
Third place went to Jang Hang-jun’s 'The King’s Warden,' which recorded 23,921 admissions for a cumulative total of 16,508,511. The film currently ranks second on Korea’s all-time box office chart, behind 'The Admiral: Roaring Currents.'
