IVE member Gaeul has been selected as a partner for the national ‘Reading Korea 2026’ campaign.
On the 21st, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that Gaeul had been chosen for the national reading promotion project, which aims to help people encounter books more naturally in daily life and develop lasting reading habits.
Gaeul has been known for her interest in books and has previously shared reading-related content. More recently, she has uploaded book-themed videos to her personal YouTube channel, including visits to book fairs, secondhand bookstores, and reviews of self-improvement books.
Through the campaign, Gaeul plans to use social media and other content to introduce the value of reading in a more approachable way, with the goal of showing that reading can be part of everyday culture.
Through her agency, she said, “I’m very happy and honored to take part in such a meaningful campaign through my love of books,” adding, “I want to share the joy and special experiences I’ve had through reading with more people.”
She also said, “I’ll think carefully about what kinds of activities and content can best convey the value of reading so that this can become a meaningful campaign,” and added that she plans to continue sharing related content through her channel.
Her first official campaign activity is scheduled for April 23, World Book Day, when she will attend the ‘Reading Korea’ declaration ceremony and host a mini book talk introducing her reading preferences.
