A number of artists are returning with new music in the fourth week of April, spanning both group and solo releases.
NCT WISH and Super Junior’s Donghae have released full-length albums, while rookie group UNCHILD has made its debut. B1A4 have also returned with a new project, and Kim Jae Hwan is set to release a new digital single.
◆ NCT WISH records first-day million sales with ‘Ode to Love’
NCT WISH made their comeback on the 20th with their first studio album ‘Ode to Love.’
On the day of release, the title track ranked No. 3 on Melon Top 100 and No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart. The album recorded 1,285,184 copies sold on its first day, marking the group’s fastest achievement as a million-seller and their third overall.
Internationally, the group also recorded strong results, topping QQ Music’s digital album sales chart in China, ranking No. 1 on Tencent Music’s K-pop chart, and charting highly on Japan’s AWA and LINE MUSIC platforms.
The album includes 10 tracks, including the title song.
◆ Donghae releases first full-length album ‘ALIVE’
On the same day, Super Junior member Donghae released his first full-length album ‘ALIVE.’
The album consists of 13 tracks reflecting his career and experiences. Donghae participated in writing and composing 11 of the songs.
The title track ‘Here Comes the Sun’ incorporates elements of Brazilian funk, while the second title track ‘Good Day’ features a gospel-inspired sound and includes guest appearances by Jay Park and 1iL.
Donghae is also scheduled to hold a solo concert tour across several cities in Asia following the release.
◆ UNCHILD debuts with ‘We Are UNCHILD’
On the 21st, UNCHILD debuted with their single ‘We Are UNCHILD.’
The group is the first new act from High Up Entertainment in six years since STAYC. The six-member lineup includes Na Ha-eun, Park Ye-eun, Hiki, Tina, Ako, and Yvonne.
The debut track ‘UNCHILD’ is an electronic pop song incorporating garage-style elements. The release emphasizes themes of overcoming fear and starting new challenges. Producer Rado participated in the track’s production.
The group has introduced its identity through teaser content featuring distinct visual concepts and themes.
◆ B1A4 returns with 9th mini album ‘SET’
B1A4 released their ninth mini album ‘SET’ on the 21st, marking their first release in over two years.
The album follows their previous mini album ‘CONNECT’ and is part of the group’s 15th-anniversary activities since their debut in April 2011.
Following the release, the group will begin music show promotions and hold an outdoor concert on May 2 at Sebitseom.
◆ Kim Jae Hwan releases new digital single
Kim Jae Hwan will release the digital single ‘I’ll Come Get You Now’ at 6 p.m. on the 22nd.
The track is his first release following military service and is described as a rock ballad centered on themes of comfort and support. Kim participated in writing, composing, and performing the guitar for the song.
As a former main vocalist of Wanna One, he is expected to present a more developed musical style through this release.
