Wanna One alum–turned–actor Ong Seong-wu is set to shock viewers with a chilling transformation, playing a "two-faced" character who hides icy intentions behind a flawless exterior.
On the 9th, the team behind tvN’s new Sat–Sun drama Spellbound unveiled stills of Ong as Kang Min-hwan, the head of CL Raymond Hotel with a secret dual nature, instantly raising anticipation among prospective viewers.
In the series, Kang Min-hwan is the heir apparent of hotel group CL, blessed with both a sharp mind and striking visuals. Within his own CL Raymond Hotel, he’s seen as the perfect leader who balances manners with reason, and he’s a warm figure who has earned deep trust from those around him, including his best friend Cheon Yeori (played by Park Eun-bin).
But behind that perfect mask lurks a dark, calculating side. Tormented by a deep void and a desperate need for love and recognition from his parents and the company, he won’t hesitate to exploit others’ trust once he locks onto a goal. His pendulum swing between ruthless pragmatism and disarming kindness is set to crank up the show’s tension.
After the stills dropped, online communities and social media lit up with reactions like, "Where on earth is there a CEO this handsome?", "That suit fit is absolutely insane", and "A handsome villain has arrived."
Meanwhile, Spellbound tells an electrifying yet sweet occult romance between a chaebol heiress who can see ghosts and a hard-charging prosecutor who fears them more than anything. The series premieres on July 18 and will also be available on TVING and Netflix.
