Channel A’s dating reality Heart Signal Season 5 teased a massive shake-up in the love lines after revealing the residents’ ages and jobs — and introducing a brand-new male contestant.

On the April 21 episode of Heart Signal Season 5, the residents hit day two in the Signal House and gathered in the living room for a full round of introductions.

First, Kim Min-ju introduced herself as “a 27-year-old office worker who’s currently preparing to become an announcer.” Next, Kim Seong-min drew attention by saying he is “29 and a general practitioner working at a dermatology clinic.” Jung Gyuri added that she is “a 29-year-old director running a modern hanbok brand.”

Kim Seo-won said, “I’m a 25-year-old professional model active on fashion show runways and in commercials,” while Park Woo-yeol introduced himself as “a 25-year-old office worker at a marketing company,” revealing the two are the same age.

The contestant who drew the most attention was Kang Yu-gyeong, who received every male contestant’s pick on day one. “I’m a 23-year-old college student majoring in Korean dance,” she said, then added a shy “Sorry,” showing her adorable youngest-child charm.

The mood heated up even more at a wine bar, where a new male resident, Jung Jun-hyun, made his entrance. With a brief but striking line — “Born in ’94, I’m a lawyer” — he instantly stole the spotlight.

The women reacted immediately to the arrival of the new “catfish.” Kim Min-ju said, “He felt difficult to approach but also comfortable at the same time,” while Kang Yu-gyeong admitted, “It’s a job I’ve only seen in dramas. I’ve never talked to a lawyer before,” unable to hide her curiosity. Watching this, Park Woo-yeol confessed, “I suddenly have a lot on my mind. Things could get risky,” reflecting on the situation. Earlier, Park and Kang had shown the fastest-growing interest by looking after each other with food.

But the interest text results announced that night defied expectations. Kim Min-ju texted Kim Seong-min; Jung Gyuri texted Park Woo-yeol; and Kang Yu-gyeong also chose Park Woo-yeol. Jung Jun-hyun picked Jung Gyuri, with whom conversation flowed smoothly, while Kim Seong-min sent his feelings to Kang Yu-gyeong.

The most shocking twist came from Park Woo-yeol. Believing the text she received was from Park, Kang Yu-gyeong beamed — but Park’s message actually went to Jung Gyuri. After getting zero votes on day one, Jung Gyuri suddenly landed two, putting her at the center of the love-line storm.

Even the studio panelists couldn’t hide their gasps. Kim Eana analyzed, “Yu-gyeong believes her relationship with Woo-yeol has become quite solid,” while Lee Sang-min lamented, “Since she thinks the text was from Woo-yeol, things just got more complicated.”

Meanwhile, Heart Signal Season 5 ranked near the top of buzzworthy charts in its premiere week, drawing intense attention from the very start of the season.
