Proving that even horror can be romantic, actors So-young Jeon and Sun-ho Baek’s on-screen chemistry is grabbing headlines day after day.
Released on the 24th and continuing its global hot streak, the Netflix series Girigo is drawing rave reviews for its tight storytelling and the duo’s powerful performances.
So-young Jeon plays Se-ah, a gutsy high schooler devoted to track and field. Though she’s grieving the loss of her parents in a car accident, she stays upbeat, leaning on her boyfriend Geon-woo (played by Sun-ho Baek). The drama ramps up the tension as a wish-granting mystery app called ‘Girigo’ begins to threaten the couple and their friends, forcing them into a fast-paced fight for survival.
After the premiere, online communities and social media exploded with comments like “Their visuals are insane,” “They even look like they were drawn by the same artist,” “I love that So-young Jeon is older,” and “They’re like Nick and Judy.”
Meanwhile, the pair previously worked together on last year’s KBS drama giggle, making this reunion even more special. With Sun-ho Baek currently serving in the military, fans are eager to see what he’ll do after being discharged.
