Highlight member Yoon Doo-joon couldn’t hide his disappointment after Korea’s heartbreaking loss to South Africa in the FIFA World Cup group stage.
On the 25th, a livestream titled 'Korea vs. South Africa | Highlight Yoon Doo-joon 2026 World Cup' was hosted on Highlight’s official YouTube channel.
Watching the match with fans, Yoon ran a watch-along live commentary for Korea’s Group A third game against South Africa at the 2026 World Cup in North and Central America.
Unable to shake the frustration throughout, Yoon said after the final whistle, "I can’t believe it. Is this a dream?" He added, "After the Czech match, I didn’t think it would come to this. There’s a lot I want to say, but I won’t. I’m afraid I might say something I’ll regret," taking a cautious tone.
Led by head coach Hong Myung-bo, Korea fell 0–1 to South Africa in the Group A third-round match held at Estadio BBVA in Monterrey, Mexico, missing a chance to secure an automatic spot in the round of 32.
Fortunately, Korea isn’t out yet. With the tournament expanded to 48 teams, the group-stage format has changed: the 12 group winners and runners-up (24 teams) advance directly to the round of 32, and among the 12 third-placed teams, the eight with the best records also move on.
