Actor Lee Jae-wook crash-lands on a notorious island everyone avoids.

On the 30th, the team behind ENA’s new Monday–Tuesday drama Doctor on the Edge unveiled a teaser poster and trailer that hint at the show’s tone.

Doctor on the Edge is a medical human romance set on the remote island of Pyeondong-do, following public health doctor Do Ji-eui (played by Lee Jae-wook), who has trauma related to the sea, and nurse Yuk Ha-ri (played by Shin Ye-eun), who returns to her hometown carrying a secret. As the two complete opposites clash with the islanders, they save lives and slowly learn how to love in a heartwarming journey.

The newly released teaser poster sparks curiosity with the stark contrast between the two leads upon arriving at Pyeondong-do, surrounded by a deep blue sea. Wearing a doctor’s coat over military fatigues, Do Ji-eui can’t hide his shock at an unexpected posting to the island, while Yuk Ha-ri smiles, soaking up the laid-back island vibe under dazzling sunlight.

The first teaser video previews Do Ji-eui’s grueling adjustment to island life. After proclaiming, “Anything’s fine as long as it’s not an island,” he’s swept into a string of unpredictable incidents. His self-mocking line, “I was just unlucky,” tugs at the heartstrings, and hints that the ever-compassionate Yuk Ha-ri—who can’t walk past someone in need—will become a savior-like presence in his exhausting new reality.

All eyes are on how these two, facing a new chapter in an isolated setting, will change each other’s lives. Doctor on the Edge premieres June 1 at 10 p.m. KST on ENA and will also be available on Genie TV and Disney+.
