Rapper BewhY has announced he is ending operations of his hip-hop label Dejavu Group after nine years.
On May 1, BewhY posted on Instagram, saying "I failed," and declared he would shut down Dejavu Group, the label he founded in 2017.
Acknowledging numerous failures in business and personal relationships, he wrote, "I’ve clearly learned my limits and decided to let go of the things I was clinging to. This decision was anything but light, and all responsibility lies entirely with me. I’m also grateful to the artists who believed in me and stayed by my side."
Dejavu Group began as a one-man agency founded by BewhY in 2017 and later expanded by signing various artists. However, without showing notable activity, the label is closing its doors nine years after launch.
"That (the success of my solo rapper career) experience made me confident, and I believed the path I chose would always be right. But in business, in relationships, and even in my inner convictions, so many things unfolded very differently from the direction I had envisioned," he admitted.
BewhY debuted in 2014, skyrocketed in popularity after winning Mnet’s Show Me the Money 5 in 2016, and released his first studio album 'The Blind Star' in 2017. He has remained active ever since.
