IU and Byeon Woo-seok are rewriting K-drama history with a viral global run.

As of the 3rd, MBC’s Friday–Saturday drama Perfect Crown became the first Korean series ever to spend 21 consecutive days in the US Disney+ Top 10, locking in a long-run hit.

Since first entering the US Disney+ Top 10 on April 12, Perfect Crown has remained on the leaderboard every single day, proving scorching interest from local viewers. It’s especially noteworthy in a US market typically dominated by crime, procedural, and sci-fi genres—this K-romance is delivering standout results on the strength of its unique charm.

This sustained US Top 10 streak is being hailed as a landmark beyond mere global popularity. Whereas past K-dramas might touch global charts but make only brief appearances in the tougher US market, Perfect Crown is setting itself apart with staying power—earning solid local trust and explosive buzz at the same time.

Perfect Crown has ranked in the Top 10 across 47 countries worldwide, including the US, and is enjoying balanced success across English-speaking regions as well as Latin America, Europe, and Asia. In Korea, it continues to dominate No. 1 ratings both in the Seoul capital area and nationwide, while sweeping the top spots in drama and cast buzz metrics—fueling a full-on syndrome.

An MBC representative said, "Among global charts, sustained performance in the US is a key indicator of a title’s true competitiveness," adding, "Perfect Crown is being widely loved across diverse cultures, showcasing new growth potential for K-dramas." In the recently aired Episodes 7 and 8, Seong Hee-ju (played by IU) and Grand Prince Ian (played by Byeon Woo-seok) fully embrace married life and elevate the romance, drawing a heated response from viewers.

Meanwhile, the global hit Perfect Crown airs every Friday at 9:40 p.m. and Saturday at 9:50 p.m.
