A buzzy project that drew explosive attention from the casting stage has finally lifted the veil.
On the 6th, short-form drama platform Lezhin Snack unveiled the first poster and teaser for its new drama Painter of the Night via its official social media.
The released poster captures Seung-ho (played by Kang-jae Kim) and Na-gyeom (played by Min-seo Ji) standing back-to-back beneath fluttering cherry blossoms, creating a lyrical mood.
The accompanying teaser ramps up expectations among fans of the original, from the intense first encounter where Seung-ho orders Na-gyeom to paint an erotic portrait just for him, to the subtle romantic tension that flows between the two.
As soon as the poster and video dropped, online communities and social media lit up with mixed reactions: "It’s a bit disappointing—the blush on the poster looks overdone," "The styling would’ve looked better if it were more natural," "It feels like their roles are reversed," "We’ll have to wait for the full release to know," and "You can tell they worked hard to capture the original’s vibe within a limited budget."
Meanwhile, the much-talked-about Painter of the Night is slated to premiere on Lezhin Snack at 5 p.m. on the 28th.
