Actor Kim Seon-ho made his first official appearance since tax evasion allegations. Rather than issuing an additional statement on the controversy, he shared his sincere commitment to Coupang Play’s variety show Bonjour Ppangjip and his thoughts on filming.

On the 6th, a press conference for Bonjour Ppangjip was held at Community House Masil in Jung-gu, Seoul. In attendance were Kim Hee-ae, Cha Seung-won, Kim Seon-ho, and Lee Ki-taek, along with PD Park Geun-hyung and writer Kim Ran-ju.

Bonjour Ppangjip is a healing variety show set in a quiet countryside village at a senior dessert cafe, where people aged 65 and older and the bakery team share warm moments. On Bonjour Ppangjip, Kim Seon-ho works front-of-house, welcoming senior guests.

Explaining why he joined Bonjour Ppangjip, Kim said, "What meant the most was being able to bring healing and happiness to seniors," adding, "Filming felt like a trip — I was excited and happy the whole time." He continued, "We believed the stars of the program were the seniors, not us. We did our best at every moment so they could feel comfortable and enjoy their time."

He also addressed missing parts of filming due to his theater schedule. "Even when I was away, I tried to make sure my absence wouldn’t be felt," he said. "I’m grateful to the guests who joined us and did so well." Speaking about SEVENTEEN’s Dino, as well as Lee Joo-bin and Ong Seong-wu, he added, "They always had a smile on their faces and worked hard to learn how to make coffee. I was touched."

Co-star Kim Hee-ae didn’t hold back on her praise for Kim. "His image feels soft and delicate, but when he works, he’s powerful and shows leadership," she said. "I even went to see his play in person, and he was truly excellent. Watching a junior’s performance inspired me to work even harder."

Writer Kim Ran-ju also shared, "When seniors hesitated to step onto the set, Kim Seon-ho approached them first, greeted them, and guided them," adding, "Thanks to him, they were able to cross the threshold more comfortably."

Back in February, Kim was embroiled in tax evasion allegations related to operating a single-person corporation involving a family member and how settlement fees were received. At the time, his agency explained that the misunderstanding arose from a lack of understanding of the corporate structure, that the related taxes had been paid in addition, and that the corporation was in the process of closing.

Meanwhile, Bonjour Ppangjip premieres on Coupang Play at 4 p.m. on the 8th.
