Park Ji-hoon, the singer-actor, set the internet abuzz by personally confirming his military plans — including a bold goal to apply for the elite Marine Corps Reconnaissance Unit.

On May 6, Park appeared as a guest on actor Kim Jung-nan’s YouTube channel and spoke candidly about what’s next. When asked about his service plans, he revealed, "I think I’ll have to enlist next year," pinpointing a likely timeline.

Park didn’t stop at a general enlistment update — he named a clear target. "There’s a unit I want to join," he said, citing the Marine Corps Recon. He added, "The age limit to apply is 29. I’m 28 now, so I have about a year left," signaling firm determination.

He also shared how people around him have reacted. "Everyone tells me I’ll regret it on the first day," Park admitted, before adding with a grin, "But the more they tell me not to go, the more I want to go," showing his signature upbeat mindset.

Park further touched on the recent Wanna One reunion activities, confessing it was bittersweet because some members couldn’t join. "I was disappointed we couldn’t all get together," he said.

Meanwhile, Park continues his acting career with the film The King's Warden and the TVING series Chwisa-byeong Jeonseori Doeda. As his enlistment approaches, fans are watching closely to see whether he follows through on the self-chosen challenge he’s set for himself.
