aespa has announced a dazzling comeback with a shocking new collab track featuring BIGBANG’s G-Dragon, immediately igniting global buzz.
Released on May 11, the pre-release single “WDA” (“Whole Different Animal”) from aespa’s second full-length album “LEMONADE” cracked the Top 10 on the iTunes Top Songs chart in 17 regions worldwide, including Thailand, Portugal, Singapore, and Brazil.
The new track also surpassed 250,000 yuan (approximately 54,672,500 won) in sales on China’s largest music platform QQ Music, earning a “Gold Album” certification. It went on to top the digital album sales and music video charts, as well as the integrated K-pop chart under Tencent Music.
“WDA” sparked even more attention with G-Dragon participating in both the featuring and rap-making. The music video captivates viewers with experimental direction and striking visuals, portraying a narrative of reclaiming one’s identity amid an era where it’s harder than ever to prove what’s “real.”
Meanwhile, aespa will officially kick off promotions by dropping their second full-length album “LEMONADE,” featuring 10 tracks including the pre-release “WDA,” on the 29th at 1 p.m.
