The official poster for the highly anticipated zombie thriller colony dropped on the 13th, instantly igniting buzz.

Officially invited to the Midnight Screening section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival, director Yeon Sang-ho’s new feature colony follows survivors trapped inside a building sealed off by a mysterious outbreak as they battle rapidly evolving infected.

The newly revealed poster shows six characters engulfed in an unidentified, viscous slime. Their expressions capture grim determination to survive, a fierce resolve to uncover the truth, and an eerie, unshakable sense of mystery. The strange slime hints at a chilling link to the outbreak and heightens curiosity.

The film stars Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-been, Kim Shin-rok, and Go Soo. Jun Ji-hyun plays Kwon Se-jung, a biotech scientist and the survivors’ leader; Koo Kyo-hwan is Seo Young-chul, a genius biologist; and Ji Chang-wook takes on Choi Hyun-seok, a security team staffer. Alongside them, Kim Shin-rok, Shin Hyun-been, and Go Soo headline key roles, promising one of 2026’s most powerful ensembles.

Early reactions are pouring in, with comments like "The poster alone sells it" and "Summer starts with colony."

colony opens on the 21st, with its world premiere set for the 16th at Cannes’ Lumière Grand Theatre.
