TV personality Jonathan revealed that he has completed every step for Korean naturalization and is now anxiously waiting for the final decision.
Jonathan and his sister Patricia recently guested on Jung Jae-hyung’s YouTube channel, where they opened up about a range of topics. When asked about his current nationality, Jonathan said, "It’s still the Democratic Republic of the Congo for now," but added, "I’ve finished all the Korean naturalization exams. I did everything I could to prepare, and I’m now waiting for the results."
He also spoke candidly about how tough the naturalization test was. "If you’ve lived in Korea for a long time, you can answer many of the questions, but once you’re actually taking it, you start thinking, 'Do I really need to know this too?'" he admitted. He explained that questions even cover documents issued by community centers or district offices, making it a test that requires practical, everyday knowledge.
The Korean language exam wasn’t easy either. Jonathan joked, "It’s so hard that you can hear people cursing from the back of the room while solving the questions," drawing laughter.
Jonathan also shared his plans for the future. "I want to keep doing what I’m grateful for, for a long time," he said. "I’ll work even harder on TV so I can reach more people in the best way possible."
Originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Jonathan settled in Korea with his family as a child. He first gained public attention through KBS Ingan Geukjang and has since been active across various programs and digital content thanks to his bright charm and quick wit.
