Shocking transformation: Min-a Shin takes on her first-ever dual role in the film pupil, which opens on June 24.

The teaser poster released on the 20th grabs attention with striking visuals and ramps up anticipation. With the release of pupil just around the corner, the poster is leaving a powerful impression on audiences.

In the film, Shin plays photographer Seo-jin, who is losing her sight due to a hereditary disease, and her twin sister Seo-in, a ceramic artist. Seo-jin doggedly hunts the culprit while closing in on the truth behind her twin’s death, even as her vision deteriorates. By contrast, Seo-in overcomes visual impairment to find success as a ceramicist—only to meet a mysterious death. Shin is set to deliver both characters with delicate yet explosive range.

Notably, the project is helmed by director Yeom Ji-ho, whose film neighbor won the NH NongHyup Distribution Support Award at the 26th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, drawing even more attention. This movie promises a suspense thriller packed with invisible dread and palpable tension, offering audiences a fresh cinematic experience.

Joining Shin are Nam-hee Kim, Seung-ryong Lee, and Young-ah Kim, each bringing a singular presence. Nam-hee Kim plays Detective Do-hyeok, who stands by Seo-jin and pursues the truth behind Seo-in’s death. Seung-ryong Lee portrays Hyun-min, a model consumed by obsession, while Young-ah Kim embodies Mi-kyung, the protective-detail detective guarding Seo-jin from a stalker—bringing the director’s vision to life.

As news breaks of the former rom-com queen’s turn as a thriller queen, reactions are heating up: "I have to see this," "Already so excited," and "New side unlocked."
