Project group I.O.I’s first new album in nine years has been embraced by the public.
According to the K-pop industry on the 29th, the title track ‘Suddenly’ from I.O.I’s third mini album ‘I.O.I : LOOP,’ released on the 19th, claimed No. 1 on the Melon Top 100 as of this morning.
‘Suddenly’ is a synth-pop track that delicately captures the sudden rush of longing and memories, and member Jeon Somi participated in writing the lyrics, drawing even more attention.
Fans reacted, saying, “Finally, the charts got it right,” “Now that’s a real public pick,” and “Come back every year.”
After unveiling their new song, I.O.I will kick off their Asia tour with the ‘2026 I.O.I Concert Tour: LOOP’ at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Seoul from today through the 30th, meeting fans for a special reunion.
Meanwhile, I.O.I is a project group formed in 2016 through the Mnet survival audition program Produce 101. Of the original 11 members, nine—excluding Kang Mina and Zhou Jieqiong—participated in this album.
