Actor Goo Seung-hwan runs into an unexpected nightmare while swapping out his furniture on a personal refresh day.

On the May 29 broadcast of MBC’s variety show I Live Alone, viewers will see Goo after he recently completed a 466 km cross-country trek. Determined to make a fresh start, he decides to replace the mattress he has used for four years. Looking at the old mattress, he shows affection, saying, "If it were a soldier, it would be one that has fought a thousand battles."

But bringing in the new mattress is anything but smooth. Due to the balcony layout and window size, a ladder truck can’t be used, forcing him and the delivery worker to carry it up the stairs. Even fitness-confident Goo works up a sweat on the climb, and at one point the mattress gets wedged in the middle of the stairwell.

"It was pure hell," Goo admits about the ordeal. He then cracks a joke—"I’ll just sleep here"—turning the scene into laughter with his trademark positivity.

After many twists and turns, Goo finally gets the mattress inside and even brings in a new sofa, giving his home a fresh vibe. Soaked in sweat, he sinks into the sofa and says, "Happiness is closer than you think," savoring a small but certain joy.

Goo Seung-hwan’s refresh day, aimed at shaking up his routine after the cross-country trek, will be revealed on May 29 at 11:10 p.m.
