Girls' Generation member and actress Yuri will unveil her everyday life in Jeju through MBC's variety show I Live Alone — and the timing is stirring buzz as reports claim her long-running exclusive contract with SM Entertainment is nearing its end, igniting intense curiosity about her next move.

At the end of the most recent episode of I Live Alone, Yuri appeared as next week's guest. In the teaser, she eases into the morning with tea at her Jeju home overlooking Seongsan Ilchulbong. "Jeju is the first place I've ever lived on my own," she says. "I'm now in my third year of living solo."

But Jeju life isn't all romance. Yuri battles the island's notorious humidity, delivering relatable laughs. With the warning, "If you only chase the romance, you won't last," she breaks out a range of gadgets to dehumidify her home. Emphasizing, "You have to fight the moisture," she lays bare the realities of island living.

Yuri also points to bugs as another summertime headache in Jeju, and even teases a scene of her heading to the sea to harvest seafood herself — cranking up anticipation for the full broadcast.

Amid this, TenAsia reported that Yuri's exclusive contract with SM Entertainment is set to expire next month. Having been with the company for about 25 years since her trainee days, attention is naturally centered on whether she will re-sign.

Yuri joined SM as a trainee in 2001, trained for six years, and debuted with Girls' Generation in 2007. The group cemented their status as a flagship K-pop girl group with countless hits like 'Into the New World,' 'Gee,' and 'Genie.' As an actress, she has steadily built her filmography with dramas like Fashion King, Innocent Defendant, and Parole Examiner Lee. Recently, she has also been loved as part of the unit 'HyoriSoo' with fellow members Hyoyeon and Sooyoung.

Because Yuri is active both as a singer and an actress, a potential move to an actor-focused management company is being floated. However, as she plans to continue activities with Girls' Generation members — including HyoriSoo — it's said she is weighing multiple options, including re-signing or transferring.

With her independent life in Jeju now revealed and a fresh charm on the horizon, all eyes are on what decision Yuri will make about her agency future.
