Actor So Ji-sub launches a brutal quest for revenge to protect his daughter.
On the 29th, the team behind SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama Manager Kim unveiled a teaser poster capturing So Ji-sub’s intense transformation.
Manager Kim is a revenge action drama based on the Naver webtoon of the same name, following an ordinary-looking father who becomes the most dangerous man alive to fight for his daughter’s return.
In the released poster, So Ji-sub grips a gun instead of a lunchbox, staring straight ahead with an icy gaze. The stark black-and-white image radiates raw anger and a thirst for vengeance as he searches for his missing child, dialing the tension all the way up.
In the story, Kim Bu-jang (played by So Ji-sub) lives as a typical employee at a small savings bank, but he is in fact a covert operative who has taken part in countless special missions. He ranks No. 1 on North Korea’s most-wanted blacklist and is a ghost who must never be exposed in the South, living under the codename 66. When his daughter disappears, his dormant instincts awaken, revealing a duality that flips between an everyday dad and a ruthless agent. Returning to SBS for the first time in 13 years, So Ji-sub is set to deliver deeper action and raw emotion—hinting at another career-defining character.
The production team said, "Manager Kim heralds the birth of a 'Korean Taken,' serving up explosive fatherly love and thrilling spectacle," adding, "Expect a fierce revenge drama that will own your Friday and Saturday nights."
Meanwhile, Manager Kim will premiere on June 26 at 9:50 p.m. on SBS.
