Shocking surge at the box office: the film 군체 has surpassed 3 million cumulative admissions just 10 days after release, already crossing its break-even point.
According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated database on the 30th, 군체 reached a cumulative 3,000,058 moviegoers as of this afternoon.
It’s the fastest pace among this year’s releases. Director Yeon Sang-ho and stars Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-been, Kim Shin-rok, and Go Soo celebrated the 3-million milestone by sharing handwritten messages and proof shots, thanking fans for their overwhelming support.
군체 follows a group of isolated survivors trapped in a locked-down building during a mysterious outbreak, battling infected foes that evolve in terrifying, unpredictable ways.
Meanwhile, 군체 was invited to the Cannes Film Festival’s Midnight Screening section this year and is currently playing in theaters nationwide.
