Shocking update: iKON member and actor Koo Junhoe will begin his mandatory service as an active-duty soldier on August 11, entering the recruit training center with no official send-off event.
On the 28th, his agency 143 Entertainment announced, "Koo Junhoe will enter the training center on August 11 to fulfill his mandatory military service as an active-duty soldier."
There will be no official event on enlistment day. The agency explained, "As many service members and their families gather at the recruit training center, we will not hold any official event to prevent safety issues," asking fans to refrain from visiting the site.
Koo Junhoe plans to quietly enter the training center, complete basic military training, and then continue his active-duty service.
Debuting with iKON in 2015, Koo has been active across music as a group and soloist, as well as in acting. Now in his 11th year since debut, he will take a brief hiatus to fulfill national duty, with fans closely watching his moves before and after enlistment.
